Theresa Fay-Bustillos and Merle Lawrence were charged with identifying non-profits in the Mission District that should receive proceeds of the sale. Non-profit leaders were wary about significant grant commitments that resulted in little positive change.

Supporting Workers’ Rights in China

The World Bank published a significant study on global supply chains; a key finding was that further progress had to be made on educating workers about their rights and strengthening the protection of those rights.

To-date, more than 900,000 migrant women workers in over 1,000 factories in 22 cities have participated in educational programs about their rights.
