What We Do

We work at the intersection of strategy and philanthropy.

We build the capacity of people and organizations to think and act strategically.  We design philanthropic approaches by working with local experts.  We  measure and evaluate projects to understand if progress is being made and to refine strategies.

Who We Serve

Our clients are individuals, families, foundations and businesses using philanthropic or strategic investments to make a positive difference in the world. They may be just starting out or very experienced.

While we work closely with non-profits and NGOs, we do not provide fundraising support for organizations or individuals.

What Makes Us Different

Better information upon which to provide strategic advice and solve problems.  Focus on capacity building of people and organizations to think and work strategically.  Linking strategy and leadership to create social impact because strategy is about what you do and leadership is about how and why you do it.

We are a team of philanthropic, leadership and subject-matter experts who collaborate together in interesting ways to serve our clients.

About Ideal Philanthropy & Sustainability

Ideal Philanthropy & Sustainability was founded by Theresa Fay-Bustillos, a philanthropic and business executive, as well as civil rights and human rights lawyer who has successfully worked in the public and private sectors both in the U.S. and around the world.

As a foundation executive, she saw first-hand how difficult it was to get access to good information and to make a difference on issues and in communities. She began to see the importance of leadership and philanthropic effectiveness and the need to think and plan ahead but also in real time. Capacity-building of people and organizations and sound advice and insights based on good information are at the core of this firm.
